The Darien Arts Center now registers for darienarts.org for fall classes in dance, music and visual arts for children ages 3 to adults. Dance classes start September 6e.

DANCE classes include ballet, hip-hop, broadway, lyrical jazz, contemporary, partnership, pointe, and pilates.

VISUAL ARTS courses include cartooning, digital illustration, iPhone digital photography, drawing/painting, mixed media and collage and Caregiver & Me for toddlers. Color pencil drawing and Sip & Paint for adults.

MUSIC lessons include piano, voice, guitar and strings, flute or percussion instruments. Group lessons include ukulele and guitar.

MARTIAL ARTS classes are available for kindergarten and up.

The DAC has hired professional ballet dancer Claire Mazza as Director of Dance and as part of an expansion of its dance program, which now offers more than 50 classes and will take place this fall at the DAC Weatherstone studio recently. renovated. Mazza joins the popular dance program that offers children ages 3 to adults the opportunity to train in one of the best dance spaces in Fairfield County and participate in multiple shows throughout the year .

An accomplished professional dancer, Mazza has been seen dancing in television productions such as Kings, Royal Pains and Elementary and has been teaching dance to students aged three to eighteen for ten years. In 2019, Claire co-founded East Coast Contemporary Ballet, a non-profit organization.

The DAC has also added professional dancer Claire St. John and international independent artist and co-director of East Coast Contemporary Ballet, Alejandro Ulloa to their dance faculty. Ulloa was awarded “International Projection Artist of the Year” by the Association of Nicaraguan Artists and in 2019, co-founded the East Coast Contemporary Ballet. Claire St. John’s training has encompassed many varieties of dance with an emphasis on classical ballet and performed in The Great Russian Nutcracker with the Moscow Ballet for 3 consecutive seasons, and in Gisele with L’Etoile Russian Ballet Academy alongside ABT soloists Veronika Part and Vitali Krauchenka.
