September 22, 2011 – The Sanford Center has announced that it will host the CMT on Tour: Luke Bryan Tailgates & Tanlines show on November 5. Bryan recently released his third CD, titled “Tailgates & Tanlines”. Her single “Country Girl (Shake it For Me)” is currently in the Top 10. Lee Brice, Josh Thompson and Matt Mason will join Bryan in Bemidji.
September 22, 1996 – Over 50 walkers participated in the annual Take Back the Night rally and walk. The rally, in memory of victims of personal violence in Minnesota, began at the Fine Arts Ballroom on the BSU campus with a march through downtown Bemidji. Sherry Lee Short of the Women’s Network of Moorhead was the keynote speaker at the event.
September 22, 1971 – The new Blue Ox Dining Room at the Markham Hotel will be ready to open on September 27 if all goes according to plan. That’s the word from the new owners of Markham Wayne Leonard and Dan Erickson. Leonard will be the bar manager and Kay Erickson will manage the dining room.
September 22, 1921 – The final two days are scheduled for the biggest and best agricultural and industrial exhibition in northern Minnesota at the Bemidji Fairgrounds. Crowds invaded the area and each exhibition and attraction had its share of attendance. Those responsible for the fair look forward to even larger crowds as the best entertainment shows have to be staged.
