The Community Services Employment Program for Seniors (SCSEP) is a federally funded employment training program for eligible unemployed, low-income adults, age 55 or older, who reside in San Francisco. The Felton Institute runs the program and currently recruits interns who are placed part-time, 12 hours a week, in community service training positions with nonprofits or government agencies, while receiving ongoing minimum wage. They are expected to take full advantage of courses, workshops, resources and obtain specialized certificates, where applicable, to enhance their skills and knowledge. Interns will be able to learn the necessary skills and gain ongoing support from our program, with the goal of transitioning into unsubsidized employment. Registration is considered a temporary position. Our goal is to help interns find employment outside of our training program. If you are interested in the SCSEP program, please send a cover letter and resume to: [email protected] or call 415-474-7310 ext. 613, or request SCSEP.
