ROWLETT, TX (October 26, 2021) The Town of Rowlett Arts and Humanities Commission is charged by City Council to encourage the development, appreciation and participation in the arts and humanities in the Town of Rowlett . This can include (and has done in the past) – the promotion of local performing arts, visual arts, literature, culture and heritage, as well as the education of local artists, performers, performers, historians, writers, etc.

The commission is made up of citizens who meet every year to plan the programs for the coming year. Their work takes many forms – all aimed at supporting the arts and humanities while making Rowlett an even better place to live.

Coming early 2022!

Here are some of the programs planned for next year:

Young Artists Exhibition – Open to students from the Lake Ray Hubbard area, artists submit artwork in 2D and / or 3D. Their works are judged by grade level and include a special needs category.

Writing competition – Writers submit works (short story, poem and / or short work) which are examined by a jury.

Photography competition – Open to everyone in the Ray Hubbard Lake area. Registrations must be made in the Town of Rowlett. Have you seen the schedule for last year? Submissions are posted annually.
